Parents

Families are not complete without engaged, enthusiastic parents. The same is true at Pisgah. An essential element to the Pisgah experience, the partnership between Pisgah and parents is highly valued and taken seriously. Pisgah provides formal and informal opportunities for parents to become involved in the learning process. From volunteer groups such as PALS to Pisgah's Open Door policy, parents are a most welcome asset as we help students develop to their fullest potential and become independent and resourceful thinkers.

Upon becoming a Pisgah family, parents are instant members of Parents are Loyal Supporters (PALS), the parent organization that has supported the school for 15 years. PALS enhances the academic experience of Pisgah through cultural arts events, special activities, and teacher and classroom support.

Parents are encouraged to become active in the following organized efforts:

Parents Are Loyal Supporters (PALS)- PALS is our parent-run organization that works to enrich the overall educational and campus experience of the students, as well as to support the teachers and administration of the school. Parents are the foundation of our school and each member of our PALS organization contributes time, energy, and personal resources to benefit Pisgah. PALS provides snacks for teacher in-services and birthday celebrations, hosts a Back To School Picnic on the first day of school, organizes donations for Operation Christmas Child and many other worth while projects. Income is generated from fund raisers, our School Store and outside resources like Box Top collection and Kroger/Publix shoppers rewards!

In previous years, PALS has helped fund:

  • Curriculum Enrichment
  • Smart classrooms and smart board installations
  • Field days and field/class trips
  • Additions for science labs

Mount Pisgah Athletic Association (MPAA) - The Mount Pisgah Athletic Association (MPAA) is our parent, faculty and local business "booster club" which supports the athletic programs in the Middle and Upper Schools. Combined with our membership into GHSA we have grown to 35 teams, expanding to include Junior Varsity and Varsity athletic teams. MPAA Boosters organize and run the annual Patriot Golf Tournament.

Fine Arts Backers (FAB) - FAB are dedicated arts enthusiasts. These volunteers back the efforts of the art, drama, chorus, and band faculty and provide invaluable time and resources to help encourage the culture side of our curriculum. The group emphasizes not only financial but hands on assistance and support for the arts. The aim of FAB is to help students discover and pursue their artistic, theatrical and musical passions.

Admission Ambassadors - Dubbed Pisgah Parent Cheerleaders this group of volunteers assists with the bi-annual Open Houses, bi-weekly tours, and follows up with perspective families.

Parents also serve on the Board of Trustees and on the Advancement Council by invitation.
