“TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL”
MISSION
The mission of the Mount Pisgah Athletic Association (MPAA) is to support the athletes and coaches of Mount Pisgah Christian School with the time, talents and financial resources of a volunteer, parent-run organization. Membership in MPAA offers an opportunity for parents and friends of Pisgah Athletics to express tangible support that not only strengthens the athletic program on the field of play, but also builds a foundation for continued development of the total person for each and every
athlete.
HISTORY
Under the direction of Leamon Hall from 2005-2007, MPAA has grown significantly each year in numbers and in contribution to the development of Pisgah Athletics. In 2008, John Delk assumed the responsibility as Incoming President and membership in MPAA reached it's highest level with 225 member families. This growth in membership has been important since Pisgah joined the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) several years ago and moved into a more competitive athletic environment. MPAA has responded accordingly over the last several years by further strengthening it's support for the athletes and coaches with a variety of initiatives including the funding for the development of the Pisgah Powerhouse weight room. However, MPAA's efforts have not just focused on the Varsity athletes, but have also extended across the entire school in order to create a positive environment for participants of all sports.
FOCUS FOR 2009-2010
Entering the 2009-2010 school year, the focus of MPAA is “Taking it to the Next Level”. John Delk is in his second year as President and the Executive Leadership Team has been broadened to include several more members. The focus for the team this year is to help MPAA assume the additional responsibilities that will come along with the opening of the Patriot Athletic Campus (PAC) this year. This will require involvement from as many families as possible and that's why MPAA has set a
membership goal for 2009 of at least 250 member families.
MPAA EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Chris and Sandee Anderson, Shelly Martin, Frank Martini, John and Joan Delk, Susan Hutto, Cathie Phillips, Bob and Sheri Ginty, Bill and Anita Marco, Bill and Deb Williamson, Lynne Thomas, and Ed Pease.
FINANCES
All funds raised by MPAA are invested in the life of Pisgah athletes to enhance their overall experience. The pie chart below outlines the major categories of spending during the 2008-2009 year. MPAA expects to continue to incur expenses in a similar fashion during the coming year with an expanded focus on the additional equipment and uniforms required as the number of athletes participating in the overall program continues to grow. In addition, several other special projects are being evaluated to determine how best to “take it to the next level” in 2009-2010.

FUTURE
The Patriot Athletic Complex (PAC) is a multi-sport facility that will be another step in “taking it to the next level” for Pisgah Athletics. The first home games will be at the PAC during the 2009-10 fall season. Thanks to the generous donations of many families, Pisgah is very close to realizing the dream of fully finishing the first phase, including the Football Stadium and Field House so that Pisgah can play Varsity Football on the complex.
