The Pisgah varsity girl’s tennis team advanced to the state tournament a year ago. Head coach Ken Bomar says his team has set high goals for this season. As part of the plan to achieve these goals he has added several strong non-region opponents to the schedule to prepare the team for the playoffs.
The girl’s team is led by senior Lacey Russell, who because of her outstanding performance last year, is being recruited by several college teams. They must rely on several freshmen to step up this spring. The new team members are no strangers to competition, having been key members of the strong middle school teams for the past two years. If these pieces fall into place, the Patriots hope to advance deep into the state tournament this spring.
