MS Basketball A - Girls

 

 

The Middle School Girl’s A team finished the 2009-2010 season 11-5, overall and 7-3 in NAML play. The Lady Patriots finished tied for second in their division and won the Eagles Landing Memorial Tournament beating Landmark Christian and Whitefield Academy.
 
“It was a successful season as all eight girls improved with the ability to play at next level,” said head coach Carl Monroe.

11/12/2009 vs. Kings Ridge LOST 25-26
The girls made a valiant comeback from being down 15-5 in first half to taking the lead late in the fourth quarter. Kings Ridge took the lead back at the free throw line with 9 seconds left for an exciting but disappointing loss for Mount Pisgah. Jenn Sapp led the way scoring 10 points and Avery White grabbed 10 rebounds in our first game of the season.
11/17/2009 vs. Fellowship WON 29-21
Pisgah was only able to dress 7 players due to injury and sickness. The team off to fast start 8-2 in first quarter and great finish fourth quarter 10-3. Several players had an outstanding game with Mackenzie leading way with 9 points and Avery 13 rebounds. Six of seven girls scored and all had at least one rebound. Jenn, Devyn, and Madison floor game and Ashley, Avery ,Marie and Mackenzie clearing boards allowed Pisgah to pull away at end.
12/3/2009 vs. Pinecrest WON 23-15
Team was behind 4-0 at end of 1st quarter but rallied to outscore visiting team every quarter for rest of game. Devyn Lowe led with 10 points and with Madison Brainard with 7. Go Pats!
12/7/2009 vs. Mount Vernon WON 25-17
1/7/2010 vs. Providence CANCELED
1/11/2010 vs. Mount Vernon WON 28-25
Devyn Lowe led scoring with 13 points and Madison Brainard had 2 for 2 foul shots at the end of the game. Avery White scored 17+ rebounds! Way to go girls!
1/12/2010 vs. Perimeter WON 28-24
Ashley Zambetti led scoring with 8 points and Amanda Whitmond hit both foul shots in overtime to seal the win! Go Patriots!
1/19/2010 vs. Hebron LOST 21-28
Pisgah scoring was led by Avery with 7 points and Devyn with 6 points. Ashley and Jen both held down with a great game on rebounds. Go Patriots!
1/20/2010 vs. Pinecrest WON 43-22
Girls played a complete game both on offense and defense. Jen led scoring with 16 points. 5 other players scored the remaining points. Go Patriots!
1/22/2010 vs. Crown WON 37-11
1/25/2010 vs. Hebron LOST 12-28
Patriots were out scored in second quarter 16 to 4. Zambetti led scoring with 6 points.
1/26/2010 vs. Providence WON 24-16
Madison led scoring with 10 while Avery and Ashley controlled boards. Go Patriots!
1/28/2010 vs. Perimter LOST 22-28
Lowe led scoring with 8 points.
1/29/2010 vs. Providence WON 26-16
1/30/2010 vs. Landmark WON 30-23
Jen Sapp led scoring with 8 points.
1/30/2010 vs. Whitefield WON 26-12
Jen Sapp led scoring with 7 points. MVP- Devyn Lowe and Defensive MVP- Avery White.
2/1/2010 vs. Mount Paran LOST 27-38
That wraps up a great season! 11 wins and 5 loses.
