Libby Geiselmayr – Upper School Visual Arts
Having graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration, Libby Geiselmayr is in her fifth year at Pisgah. After receiving SCAD’s 2002 Illustrator of the Year distinction, honors in two Los Angeles Society of Illustrators competitions, and the Gold Medal award for the 2002 Blue Cube “Herd the Call” exhibition in Columbus, Ohio, Ms. Geiselmayr worked as a muralist, an assistant gallery director for Solomon Projects, Atlanta, Georgia and as a freelance illustrator with work distributed in publications such as Nerve Cowboy and Business Law Today. She will begin her Master's degree program in Medieval Studies through Warnborough College-Ireland this spring. Ms. Geiselmayr wants to provide students an opportunity to experience all the visual world has to offer – to open their eyes and minds to perhaps something they have yet to know. Her goal in transitioning from artist to teacher is to connect and inspire while helping the students discover their God given gifts along the way.
Erik Buxton - Middle and Upper School Chorus
As a music education major at the Florida State Univerrsity, Mr. Buxton studied choral conducting with Colleen Kirk, Clayton Krehbiel, and Dr.Andre Thomas. He later completed a Masters in Church Music at Lee University. In his third year at Pisgah, Mr. Buxton continues to delight in leading students on journeys of discovery, striving to strike the right balance between artisitic excellence and artful enjoyment.
Mr. Buxton's performance experiences have seen him don various regional opera company stages and sing as a member of the world renowned "Voices of Liberty" at Walt Disney World. An accomplished songwriter, Mr. Buxton won the 2011 Babbie Mason International Songwriting Competition and was a 2002 Dove Award Nominee. Accolades aside, Mr. Buxton finds fulfillment facilitating eye-opening, path-altering inspiration to people as they prusue and embrace who God has made them to be.
Bryan Hatmaker – Lower, Middle and Upper School Band
Earned a Bachelor in Music Education from The Boston Conservatory, a Masters of Science from Southern Oregon University, with an American Band College Certification, and has taken additional graduate level studies at Michigan State University and Boston University. This is Bryan's fifth year on the Pisgah Arts Faculty, and his twentieth year of teaching. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at Pisgah, he is also the coordinator for both the Georgia Music Educators Association All State Jazz Band and the Georgia Independent School Association Middle School All Select Band. He is also a member of the Mount Pisgah UMC Praise and Worship Orchestra.
June Pettway – Lower School Visual Arts
Having met the Lord in college, June Pettway says God called her from Fine Arts into Art Education. Mrs. Pettway earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from the University of South Florida and some years later, she earned a Masters of Arts degree in Art Education from North Georgia College and State University. This is Mrs. Pettway’s eleventh year teaching at Mount Pisgah Christian School. She says it is clear to her that the Lord is passionate about Visual Arts. She feels blessed to have shared His love for creativity in the classroom for more than twenty years.
Susan Reilly - Middle School Visual Arts
Susan Reilly earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College in Studio Art, with a concentration in hand built and wheel thrown ceramics. While at Connecticut College, she also directed and sang in one of the nation’s oldest all-female a capella college groups, touring and performing in Europe. In high school, she sang soprano for the Sidwell Friends Chamber Chorus in Washington, DC, and was a cast member in various musicals. This past summer she had the pleasure of performing with the Peterborough Chamber Choir in New Hampshire. In addition to teaching Middle School Visual Arts, Mrs. Reilly coaches the Pisgah varsity boys and girls cross country teams, and assists with the varsity track team. During the summer she loves to spend time on her pottery wheel.
Anna Burrell - Theatre Arts
Anna Burrell is happy to start her first year of teaching at Mount Pisgah Christian School! She is a graduate of Piedmont College with a B.A. in Drama Education. During her time at Piedmont, she participated in several shows including, Godspell, As You Like It, You Can’t Take It With You, and The Boys Next Door. She was an active member of Alpha Psi Omega, the collegiate theatre honor society, and through APO, she co-founded the Piedmont College improvisation troupe, Schticks and Giggles. Anna did her student teaching at Peachtree Ridge High School where she directed I Never Saw Another Butterfly as well as choreographed different numbers for the school’s show choir. Outside of school, she has performed with the Rose of Athens theatre as well as the North Georgia Theatre for Youth, and she has judged and organized different One-Act competitions. Anna loves watching students grow and explore their creativity in class and on stage, and she can’t wait to see all that is in store for Pisgah Arts!
Grace Song Parsons - Orchestra Director
Grace Song Parsons is a first year teacher at Pisgah. She is a graduate of Georgia State University, with a Bachelors in Music Education. Her teaching career began in Gwinnett County, where she taught for three years. She continued her teaching career in the Fulton County schools for two years. This is her sixth year as an orchestra director. Ms. Parsons is also a freelance violinist, having played with various orchestras in the Atlanta area, and also teaches private lessons.
Courtney Supple - Lower School Music Teacher
Courtney Supple hails from Chicago, having previously taught high school choral music. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education with high distinction from the University of Illinois, where she also attained the Music Education Achievement Award. She has studied conducting with Dr. Joe Grant. Mrs. Supple has served as choral director at Northside High School in Columbus, GA, where she directed seven ensembles. She also served as co-director of the Columbus Chamber Singers, president of the UIUC Concert Choir, and music director of No Comment, a mixed a cappella ensemble who competed in the International Competition for Collegiate A Cappella. Mrs. Supple has also taught private piano and voice.
Mrs. Supple makes a home with her husband Phil in Sandy Springs. They are both members of the William Baker Festival Singers of Atlanta. Mrs. Supple also has served as soloist and guest conductor for this ensemble. Her love for music and passion for sharing it with young people is demonstrated by Rachmaninoff’s words, “Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music.” She looks forward helping young students learn to praise the Lord through the beauty of music.
