Instrumental and General Music

The Pisgah band and strings program continues to grow in excellence under the leadership of some of metro Atlanta's most talented and experienced instructors.

Beginning and Advanced opportunities exist at all grade levels, beginning as early as fourth grade at the Lower School. Pisgah students impress audiences at each of their musical performances throughout the year.

Under the direction of Mr. Bryan Hatmaker, four major concerts are presented each year, along with a variety of other showcase performances, and participation in state-wide festivals.

In addition, all middle school students receive a vibrant general music experience taught by Mrs. Jana Ritchie. This course is for both the aspiring musician and all other students who benefit by becoming well-rounded.

Creative Expression

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Psalm 98:4. Ryan Tablada definitely takes this verse to heart. His passion for music led him to many of the Pisgah Arts programs. He has been one of the leaders within the Chapel band and also worked with the associated technical crew. He has been in school plays and Advanced Art Studio. Ryan was also the very first member of Pisgah’s new drumline. “I believe that the arts are extremely important. I have learned that without practice you lose what you have learned and without guidance, you will always go astray.”

Now pursuing a degree in music at Belmont University, Ryan can see himself with a career in recording engineering and ministry. “I plan to go where God leads me. Music and the arts will be my basis, as will my faith, which has been solidified at Pisgah."
