Financial Assistance

While an education at Mount Pisgah Christian School yields a lifetime of returns; we also understand that it is a significant financial commitment. Our financial aid program affords opportunities to mission-compatible students, regardless of their family's financial resources.

Financial aid recommendations are made by Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST), which provides the School with a confidential financial needs-analysis report. Financial aid requests are processed in the order of need and awarded based on available funds.

Tuition Assistance is not offered to Early School or K-Prep students.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How are my finances evaluated?

A: In order for us to allocate our resources wisely and fairly, we have enlisted the help of Independent School Management’s FAST program. FAST does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; rather FAST provides a need-based financial aid analysis service which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. The analysis is the primary tool that the School uses to decide the amount of tuition assistance granted. Unusual circumstances of each family situation are acknowledged and considered by the Tuition Assistance Committee. The guiding principal of the committee is to fairly distribute the limited tuition assistance funds that are available.

Q: Does application for tuition assistance affect admissions?

A: Admission decisions are based solely upon a student's qualifications.

Q: How is Tuition Assistance funded?

A: Tuition assistance is funded through a number of sources: Annual Fund, the Annual Operating Budget, GOAL, and other gifts and endowments.

Q: Who should apply for Tuition Assistance?

A: If the cost of a Mount Pisgah Christian School education is beyond a family's financial means, they should apply for tuition assistance. Income may not preclude the possibility of assistance since other dependents, other tuition costs, considerable debt (excluding consumer debt), unusual medical expenses, or some other extraordinary financial burden are considerations. The entire process is strictly confidential. Tuition Assistance is not offered to Early Childhood or K-Prep students.

The School's policy for determining the financial need of students is based on the principle that both parents are responsible for the support and educational expenses of their children to the extent that they are financially able to assume that responsibility.

Q: If I currently receive tuition assistance, do I have to apply again?

A: Yes. A family must submit a new Parent's Financial Statement to FAST each year. Any student currently receiving need-based assistance may reapply as long as all current financial obligations to the school have been met. In addition, to be eligible to continue to receive financial aid, a student must maintain a cumulative 2.5 GPA.

Q: Who has access to my financial information?

A: The School is committed to protecting the privacy of its families; therefore, all information received by the Accounting Department is held in the strictest confidence.

Q: Who is on the Tuition Assistance Committee?

A: The Tuition Assistance Committee is comprised of the School President, Director of Finance, and the Director of Admissions.

The Committee strives to establish uniform criteria for evaluating parental ability to pay the total educational expenses of the student. The ultimate responsibility for determining the amount of the grant offered for tuition assistance rests with the Tuition Assistance Committee.

Q: How and when should I apply?

A: It is VERY IMPORTANT to complete the financial aid application and submit to FAST as soon as possible and before the February 15 (reenrolling) and March 15 (new applicants) deadlines as outlined in the timetable below. In order to use FAST, you will need Internet access. If you do not have a computer, public libraries usually have online computers available, or you may contact the school and request to use a computer there. Failure to meet the deadlines will place your application on a waiting list for consideration.

You must also mail a copy of your completed Federal and State Income Tax returns with copies of the W2's to FAST. Preprinted envelopes are available in the Admissions Office or the Finance Office.
