Application Process

Pisgah’s application process provides multiple opportunities for maximum exposure for each prospective applicant. The typical eight-week process includes:

  • Application Portfolio
  • Interviews
  • Committee Review

Feedback from an average of ten sources is utilized to define an applicant’s potential for success at Pisgah. Approximately six individuals serve on each Review Committee. Mount Pisgah Christian School admits students of any race, color, sex, national and ethnic origin to all privileges, programs, and activities accorded or made available to students at the School. Pisgah students thirst for knowledge and are internally motivated to achieve to their fullest potential. They seek out opportunities to learn and actively engage in the classroom.

Academic Achievement

Students should demonstrate the ability to successfully achieve within Pisgah’s rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Pisgah uses student achievement data to assess perspective student performance. Within our Lower and Middle Schools students perform at the highest levels on academic achievement tests consistently scoring 7 to 9 on their stanines, a benchmark that has been consistent for more than 10 years. Applicants to the school take the Stanford tests so that we can affirm their success when grouped with current students.

Transcripts, entrance exams, teacher evaluations and all achievement data are also weighted.

Social Maturity

The Pisgah community of learners are a family and as family students are expected to play and learn well with others. Social maturity provides an optimal learning environment for all and follows biblical principles of how to treat one another.

Prospective students are engaged in informal group interviews and a one on one interview to determine social maturity. Evaluations from Guidance Counselors are also weighted.

Parental Involvement

Parental support and involvement actively reinforces the learning expectations of an independent environment.
