School Profile
Founded in 1986, Mount Pisgah Christian School’s mission is to provide an outstanding college preparatory education grounded in Christian faith and values. Pisgah is an independent, coeducational school serving students from pre-K through 12th grade.
Pisgah holds dual accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and is a member of numerous professional and educational organizations including NAIS, the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA), Georgia High School Association (GHSA), and the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS).
The Curriculum and Offerings
Our curriculum is distinctly college preparatory, and includes honors-level courses in each of our academic core disciplines, as well as a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) offerings. Placement in an honors or AP course requires a qualifying grade in the prerequisite class and the teacher’s recommendation.
In addition to our college preparatory academic foundation, our distinctly Christian context for learning challenges students to question the messages of a popular culture that, at times, devalues notions such as truth and beauty. Our focus on traditional liberal arts training in math, science and the humanities, as well as strong emphasis on technology and the arts, gives students the tools they need to be successful in college. In addition to the core and additional AP courses listed below, our offerings include required religion courses, PE/health, and a full complement of electives.

Honors and Distinctions
Honor Roll distinctions are made in the semester following the accomplishment. Honors and AP course weights are added to the grade to determine eligibility. The following levels of distinction are made:
- Honor Roll: An average of 90 or above with no failures in all subjects.
- Honor Roll with Distinction: All A’s in all subjects for a single semester.
- Honor Roll with Great Distinction: All A’s in all subjects for both semesters in a school year. This award is only given at the end of the year.
- National Honor Society: An average of 92 or above from the preceding year.
Class Rank
Due to the size of our student body, we do not rank students. Small differences in GPA could result in significant differences in rank or percentile. We therefore believe class rank is a potentially biased statistic for our students.
We rank only insofar as to determine the Valedictorian and Salutatorian of each class. To qualify for these honors, the student must have attended Pisgah for a minimum of two full academic years prior to graduation. The calculation is based on all Upper School coursework and Middle School coursework taken for Upper School credit up to and including the fall semester grades of the class’s senior year. The GPA for this distinction is calculated to two decimal places.
Enrollment
All faculty at Pisgah are committed to guiding each student in the pursuit of personal, academic and spiritual growth. The Upper School faculty includes twenty-nine teachers (15 men and 14 women), nineteen of whom are dedicated to the Upper School. Core courses (English, mathematics, sciences, social science, and foreign language) are taught by dedicated Upper School faculty. Other faculty are shared with the Middle School. These teachers instruct students in required non-core or elective courses (e.g., physical education, fine arts, Christian education, and music).
